The following are the official results for the Barbour County primary and non-partisan election that was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Total registered voters: 9796
Ballots Cast: 3615
Voter turnout: 36.90 percent.
In non-partisan election, the results were as follows:
Magistrate Court District 1: Angie Stalnaker 2785.
Magistrate Court District 2: Daniel J “DJ” Harris 2910.
Board of Education: Martin Durst (West District) 1550, Maureen Lasky-Setchell (South District) 1195, Adam Starks (North District) 1787.
Conservation District Supervisor: Thomas Short 2281, Delbert Vandevander 866.
Circuit Judge Circuit 23 Division 1: Shawn D Nines 2459.
Circuit Judge Circuit 23 Division 2: Thomas B. Hoxie 2620, Allison Clark Iapalucci 869.
Family Court Judge: Karen Hill Johnson 2785.
In Democratic primary, there was only one race for State Senate, where Mandy Smith Weirich received 654 votes.
In Republican primary, the results were as follows:
County Commission: Jamie Carpenter 772, James “Shortbus” Poling 179, Bob Richardson 849, Matthew “Matt” Ryan 765.
Prosecuting Attorney: Andrew “Drew” Phillips 2109.
Sheriff: Brett Matthew Carpenter 1849, Frankie Keener 609.
Assessor: Derick A Spencer 1374, Carrie Sponaugle Boyles 1180.
State Senate: Robert Lee Karnes 741, Robbie Morris 1650.
House of Delegates: David Critchfield 937, Chris Phillips 1576.
