This summer the Philippi Public Library is hosting many programs based on the summer reading program theme, Adventure Begins at your Library. In addition to children’s programs, Summer Reading Adventures on Tuesdays, ARTZ on the Green on Wednesdays The Secret Garden, Thursdays, Summer Family Movies on the Green on select Friday nights and on select Saturday mornings, STREAM Wednesday s in July and children’s summer feeding. The library is hosting “In the Shadow of the Big Red Eye” on Wednesday June 26, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. and a live virtual tour of a Costa Rican Rain Forest on Thursday, June 27 at 1 p.m.
On June 26, join producer, Lead Investigator, and New Jersey native Mike Familant as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth, behind America’s most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. He has been researching the large, bipedal hominid for over 13 years and has captured some impressive evidence along the way.
He will exhibit some extraordinary evidence backed by facts which he and his team have collected throughout his journey, along with some of the unfortunate experiences which came along with Bigfooting. A question and answer period will be held after the presentation and he will be available after for photographs and autographs.
On Thursday June 27, at 1 p.m. come to the library for a live virtual tour of a Costan Rican Rainforest. Located in Central America between Panama and Nicaragua, Costa Rica provides some of the most unique biodiversity in the world. In the live virtual tour, you will learn about the vital rainforest, the plants and animals, and their importance for our planet.
