Christmas goodies await visitors to Adaland’s free Christmas Open House and Santa’s Gift Shop/Bake Sale on Saturday, December 7. The general public is invited to enjoy the mansion decorated in her Christmas finery, shop at Santa’s Gift Shop, and select a variety of Christmas sweets to take home.

“We hope to see many guests at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet on Sunday, November 24 and then the following weekend at our annual Christmas Open House and Santa Gift Shop/Bake Sale on Saturday, December 7,” says an Adaland Mansion spokesperson.

Adaland’s Thanksgiving Buffet is well-known for its sumptuous selection of traditional foods. Veteran cook Lucy Williamson will be preparing buttered turkey, stuffing and gravy, raisin roasted ham, buttered carrots, green beans, cabbage-n-noodles, coleslaw, homemade bread and rolls, and a wide variety of cakes and pies for dessert. All this can be reserved by calling 304-457-1587. When calling for reservations be sure to state preferred seating time; 1, 2:30, or 4 p.m.

The Saturday, December 7 Christmas Open House and Santa Gift Shop/Bake Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event is a gift from Adaland to its many visitors as a way to say “Welcome to Christmas at Adaland!”

The Open House enables visitors from far and wide to meander through the 1870 mansion and enjoy the Christmas decorations throughout the house. Festive trees, a variety of garland, Christmas balls, bows, and lights grace each room.

Besides enjoying the decorations throughout the house, guests are invited to shop at Santa’s Gift Shop where they may find the perfect gift for special people on their gift lists. And there will be a huge selection of baked goods that will please anyone’s sweet tooth.
