Tacy Fair To Be Held On August 3

The Tacy Stickers 4-H Club serves Tacy and surrounding areas. It is the oldest in Barbour County originating back to 1924. The 4-H group strives to teach youth about leadership, develop public speaking skills and participate in community service projects.

Throughout the year, the 4-H group raises money to support 4-H scholarships, community projects and field trips. The Tacy Fair is the 4-H club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

This year’s fair will be a day full of exciting events including games, entertainment, cake walks, exhibits (register exhibits beginning at 11 a.m. with judging at 2 p.m.), a pet parade (11 a.m.), silent auction and the presentation of Miss Tacy and her court. You can also find a variety of food including homemade ice cream in many different flavors.

Entertainment is showcased throughout the day with no admission. The dining hall is wheelchair accessible and seating is available under the tents — or visitors can bring a seat. The 2024 Tacy Fair will be a celebration of the club’s history. All former members are invited to attend and be recognized along with former Tacy Fair queens and kings.

The 4-H members and their parents have put in long, hard hours preparing for the fair. They encourage everyone to come out, have fun and support their club. All donations are welcome and appreciated. No amount is too small. If you are interested in sponsoring or offering a donation, please call Club Leader Paula Townsend at 304-677-1530.
