Statewide Tornado Drill To Be Held Tuesday (Monday, March 24, 2025)

  • Barbour County Office of Emergency Management is reminding people about statewide tornado drill that will take place on Tuesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. It means that the Emergency Alert System will be activated on both TV and radio.


  • This Saturday, April 29, 17 North Event Center will be a site of Seinfeld Night Out from 6-9 p.m. Food, trivia, music, and dance contest are all organized.


  • Belington Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Belington City Park.


  • Also on April 12, Save the Tygart Watershed Association will be cleaning up Arden Riverside. They will be meeting at 9 a.m. at the Arden boat ramp (intersection of Arden Grade Rd and Felton Hill Rd). Rain or shine - and gloves and trash bags will be provided.


  • Tygarts Valley Conservation District's next tech application class will be on how to use Google Earth to help with grazing and farming operations. The class is free and it will take place on April 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Conservation office. For more info, call 304-457-3026 or 304-590-1969.


  • Donkey basketball game that was cancelled earlier this winter due to bad weather was rescheduled for this Thursday, March 27. Event is at Belington Middle School and it starts at 6 p.m.


  • Fire Departments were busy once again over the weekend - this time dealing with vehicle accidents and structure fires. Both structure fires were part of mutual aid response (Flemington and Bridgeport).
