If you are receiving Social Security benefits and looking for a way to supplement your income, but are unsure how it would affect your benefits, there is help. On Wednesday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to Noon, at The Market Place, 107 S Main Street, Philippi, we will have a presentation from a representative from the Social Security Administration discussing the different types of Social Security benefits and how or if employment income affects those benefits.
Discussion will include what income counts and how much of that income counts as well as the reporting requirements. This workshop is being sponsored by the Southwestern Community Action Council through its Senior Community Services Employment Program. SCSEP assists individuals aged 55 and over who are unemployed, with low incomes, by paying them while they train and develop new skills. Join them on Wednesday, December 13 at 10 a.m. to learn more.
For more information, contact the Southwestern Community Action Council at 304 525-5151 and ask to speak to someone about the mature worker program.
