The Philippi Public Library invites local community members to share their artistic talents. The library is seeking submissions for its first Tiny Art Show. The library will highlight the Tiny Art Show as well as the library’s preschool story hour art and local middle school art during the Philippi Main Street Art Stroll on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5 – 8 p.m.
Director Judy Buckner Larry said, “We’re very excited to showcase the Tiny Art Show to our many programs that we are doing this spring. Whether you are a seasoned, occasional, or never-before artists, we invite everyone a kit from the library while supplies last and share your masterpiece with the public. We have 40 kits to distribute and hope that we will get 40 works of art back to display. All artists much submit their artwork to the library by Friday, April 19. This year, artists have a choice of painting on canvas or using watercolors to paint on watercolor paper. Also, this is an exhibit rather than a competition.”
Adding to the provided supplies is encouraged so long as everything fits on the tiny canvas. We will display the artists’ names, ages (if children), and the title of the piece. After the exhibit time, the artists may return to the library to pick up their creations.”
