Horizons Church is celebrating their 10th anniversary ministering in Barbour County, during a special 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
In 2012 Horizons felt led by the Lord to plant a new location in Barbour County, and began Bible study meetings in homes. On August 7, 2013, the Heart and Hand generously donated their Outreach Center building (a Methodist church built in 1900) in Junior. The launch team spent the next two months renovating the building, then opened for services on October 20, 2013.
Pastor Jeff Burnett said, “More than 100 people have been saved and baptized in the 10 years since we’ve opened, along with 30 children dedicated by their parents to the Lord.”
He added the service has contemporary worship music, activities for children, and practical messages that help Christians and spiritual seekers draw closer to God. There are about 100 people actively attending.
The church is currently in a sermon series about the Seven Churches of Revelation.
