The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce invites the general public to the second of its series, Information: Barbour County, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Burbick Hall on the campus of Battlers Knob, the former Alderson Broaddus University. Light refreshments will be served.
The October 16 session will feature Cheryl Wolfe, Executive Director of the BC Development Authority. Wolfe will be sharing good news about businesses locating to Barbour County, providing an update on broadband expansion into the county, and introducing exciting recent and upcoming developments in the community.
The mission of the BCDA is “The creation and retention of jobs by attracting new businesses, retaining existing businesses and supporting entrepreneurial efforts in a manner that promotes a strong community work ethic.” The organization was established by the Barbour County Commission in 1981.
“Information: Barbour County” is a new imitative of the Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the new series of information sessions is to keep Barbour County citizens informed of what is happening in their community and the activities that impact the community.
“We hope that our citizens will join us as we learn about what is happening in our county and in our area,” says Chamber President Ed Larry. Future topics and guest speakers will be announced in the local newspapers and on social media.
