Artefaktual Recap & Upcoming Events

The past two weeks have been buzzing with activity here at Artefaktual! We kicked off with the return of Board Game Night, which was a raucous success. We learned to play Coup, a quick and competitive game of deception that had everyone laughing and plotting. The night also featured a board game based on A Series of Unfortunate Events—a far less enjoyable (but appropriately grim) experience that was right on brand for Lemony Snicket’s style!

Our Open Art session saw a smaller turnout, but it was a day full of creativity and good vibes. Artists got to work on various projects while listening to music, and we even drew in a few newcomers passing by. It was great to see fresh faces join in on the fun.

Our first-ever Girls Only Comics Club got off to a fantastic start, even with a last-minute plot twist—I had an unexpected trip to the ER and could only join the last 30 minutes! Despite my brief absence, the group had a lively discussion about the comics, shows, and movies everyone’s been enjoying. It was a promising beginning, and we’re looking forward to seeing this group grow.

Friday’s D&D session didn’t quite reach critical mass this time, but that’s all part of the adventure! We’re hoping for a better turnout next session and will be here for all the players looking to roll the dice in future weeks.

Puzzle Club, on the other hand, was an absolute delight. We completed a stunning mermaid puzzle and started another featuring scenes from Supernatural. This one will stay out on one of the tables for anyone who wants to stop by and work on it—just as long as it doesn’t get in the way of other activities!

Coming Up at Artefaktual

Looking ahead, we have another Board Game Night Thursday from 6-8 p.m., so bring a friend (or a few!) and come ready for some tabletop fun. Then, on Saturday, we’re hosting our first Pop Swap from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you plan on bringing items to trade, we’d appreciate a quick call or message to let us know, but all are welcome to bring up to two manageable boxes of items to swap. It’s a fantastic chance to find something new and share in the excitement with others in the community.
