Artefaktual Prepares to Reignite D&D Nights with Community Planning Session

The countdown has begun for Dungeons & Dragons fans in the area, as Artefaktual readies to restart its popular D&D nights, starting with an all-inclusive D&D Planning Session scheduled for this Friday from 7 to 9 PM. Both seasoned players and newcomers to the game are invited to attend this initial event, where the shop will focus on setting up campaigns, character creation, and gathering a solid base of players and Dungeon Masters (DMs) for future sessions.

Since its early days, Dungeons & Dragons has been celebrated as a deeply collaborative and imaginative experience, and this local game shop is eager to bring that spirit back to life. The upcoming planning session will offer a chance for players of all backgrounds to shape their ideal campaigns and explore the storytelling potential that D&D offers.

Campaign Development and Character Creation: This first session will allow players to engage in a “behind-the-scenes” experience, helping plan out potential campaign worlds, brainstorm story ideas, and develop characters with intricate backstories. The shop encourages creative collaboration, and for those attending, it’s a chance to dive deeply into character roles, explore new gameplay options, and connect with like-minded enthusiasts.

To ensure accessibility for new and returning players alike, the shop is providing all necessary materials, including rulebooks, character sheets, and dice. These resources, generously donated by John Boskovic and the late Michael White, serve as a tribute to the shop’s longstanding commitment to supporting community gameplay.

“We’re looking forward to building new adventures with both familiar faces and new players alike,” said Gretch Corley. “Whether you’re new to D&D or a veteran player, this planning session is all about forming connections and creating stories that everyone can enjoy.”

Details and Future Sessions: The D&D Planning Session will take place on Friday from 7 to 9 PM at Artefaktual's new location at 15225 Barbour County Highway.

Following November's planning sessions, the shop will host biweekly Friday night D&D sessions, where campaigns created during the planning phase will officially kick off. This will also be a great opportunity for former players who have considered, but not yet attempted, taking on the mantle of Dungeon Master.

A Beginner-Friendly Approach

According to Gretch, “We want everyone who’s curious about D&D to come by and see what the excitement is all about. No experience is necessary, and we’re more than happy to help new players learn the basics.”
